Hello everyone! I will explain the international journal review that I have previously discussed, before I have just discussed the introduction. Now, I will discuss the litterature review. The tittle journal is “Role Playing in Storytelling Classes and Its Impact on Iranian Young EFL Learners’ Narrative Writing” written by Mojgan Rashtchi and Mosayeb Moradzadeh at TEFL Department, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch.
Litterature Review
Narrative is a text that tells about an information that contains emotions or ideas from someone. Narrative writing is writing stories that are real or fictional, and tell about a person's personal experience, or an event. Narrative writing skills are not easy for young EFL classes in Iran, because they do not know where to start and how to understand these materials. After they examined it, it turned out that with them using task-based activities in the EFL class, EFL students in Iran had a positive impact compared to teaching using traditional approaches. The positive impact obtained is that there is an increase in narrative writing in the EFL class. as stated by the study, that the role playing techniques in EFL class have a very good impact because with that, EFL students are progressing in terms of writing narratives. The theory used in this case is constructivism, because they can experience improvements based on the environment that can hone the knowledge of EFL students.
Role playing techniques use a system that can support EFL students, such as body movements. So that they can develop their knowledge and will also grow their growth in a healthy manner. There are 2 types of learning, namely active and passive learning. The strategy of playing roles in the EFL class is very effective because, participants educated EFL can be what they want like captains, rich people or others. And this strategy can increase their English vocabulary when compared to other strategies. Not only vocabulary can increase, but their self-confidence, spoken in foreign languages, student empathy, and also their thinking becomes more critical. There are also other reasons, in teaching narrative writing using role play through short stories can be related to implicit learning. Implicit learning is defined by learning without an awareness or ability that is not realized by someone. This implicit learning, makes students more difficult in understanding a text by structuring structurally without the knowledge they have.
The conclusion is, based on what has been done by the researchers, the use of roles in EFL storytelling classes in Iran does not have a clear difference between using narrative writing role playing techniques in Iranian EFL classes and those who read short stories in the classroom in a loud voice .
Thank you, and enjoyed !
